This page will keep a running log about the J2A class's trip. Thanks to the efforts of the class, the parents, and of the entire congregation, our J2A-ers have an unforgettable opportunity to experience this pilgrimage!
Please note that I will not be posting the "story" of the hike, as we want the pilgrims to tell their own story when they return. I will post general progress information, however. Due to security concerns I will not include specific itinerary details.

The pilgrims will complete the trip to Santiago de Compostela tomorrow. The weather sounds fabulous with the partly sunny skies and an high of 66F tomorrow! The Bradleys heard from Chris - here's a quick summary. The last piece of luggage was to arrive on Friday, 6/23. They spent a day walking around Leon, had a good meal that night, then got up to go shopping the next morning to buy shirts and shoes for those who lost their luggage. The first two days they hiked 18km each day. Chris says that the towns/guesthouses they are staying in are nice. He also mentioned the food was very good - especially the Paella. On Thursday they were in Portomarin. |

Terry talked with Saranjan today. The Saranjan contact said that the pilgrims were on schedule, and that no major changes have been made to the itinerary and they believe the pilgrims will complete the 100km trip as planned. |

Received call from Saranjan. The guide took the kids shopping and purchased tennis shoes for those who didn't have them (i.e, the girls). As of now, all the luggage except for 2 pieces has caught up with the group. The guide reports the group is health and happy and walked 18 kilometers today - and no one rode in the van! |

Received call from IJ. Their luggage didn't make it with them to Madrid. They are now in Leon, and hoping the luggage catches up with them soon. The airline is giving them money to purchase some clothes until the luggage arrives. Temperature today in Leon about 85F, and sunny. They walked around the town and stayed very active. Planning on sleeping in since they are shopping in the morning. Then they will get in the van to move on to their next destination. |
